Children’s Missions Week is free of charge and will be held at View Crest Presbyterian Church at 883 Linden Road in Eighty-Four. Each day, before the morning’s activity, the importance of serving others as Christ commanded will be taught, followed by a time of singing. Schedule Monday, June 23, 9:00 - 12:30 Join us as we glean from the fields of a local farm. We will then donate the produce to the Washington City Mission and/or the Jubilee Soup Kitchen. Tuesday, June 24, 9:30 - 12:00 Children ages 11 and up will prepare and serve the noon meal to Pittsburgh’s homeless at the Jubilee Soup Kitchen.* Younger children, ages 3 - 10, will be filling shoeboxes with items for needy boys and girls. Wednesday, June 25, 9:00 - 12:00 The children will bake cookies, make cards, and decorate bags for Meals on Wheels local deliveries. Older children will bake while the younger ones make the cards and decorate the bags. Thursday, June 26, 10:00 - 1:00 We will serve lunch to the residents of Hawthorne Woods Assisted Living. The children will be singing as the residents eat. There will also be a magic show. Lunch will be provided for the children. They are expecting us from 9:30 - 1:00. **On days that involve traveling, parents will be expected to transport their own children to and from the site (we will still meet at the church first). On other days, children may be dropped off at the church.
